[Trivia/Curiosidades] ABS-CBN's Maria de Jesus, Ang Anghel sa Lansangan (Cuidado con el Angel, Televisa)

This Mexican telenovela is a remake of a 1959 telenovela of the same title, starring Amparo Rivelles and Guillermo Aguilar.

The immense success of Cuidado con el Angel landed both Maite Perroni and William Levy protagonist roles in two separate telenovelas succeeding Cuidado con el Angel. Maite is the leading lady in Mi Pecado, opposite Eugenio Siller, while William is the galan of Sortilegio, opposite Jacqueline Bracamones of Las Tontas (Las Tontas no van al Cielo). Both telenovelas are currently airing in Mexico.

William and Maite were rumored to be dating while the telenovela was being taped. Both actors, however, vehemently denied it.

William Levy has a son with actress Elizabeth Gutierrez. He and Elizabeth are sometimes dubbed as the Latin Brangelina, not only because William has a resemblance to Brad, but also because Elizabeth is currently also one of the hottest stars in the telenovela world. The two met in a reality show in which they both participated, Protagonistas de Novela 2. They also worked in two telenovelas together, Olvidarte Jamas and Acorrolada. Just this month (June 2009), there were rumors that the two had split up, but William confirmed that they are still very much together.

Like Thalia, Maite is also a singer. She was part of the pop group RBD, which was launched on the telenovela Rebelde. RBD was a huge international hit. Filipinos were able to watch the group in 2007 when they performed in the Miss Universe pageant. Their song "Tu Amor" was also played on radios as well as on the telenovela Rebelde Way (local title Rebelde) on TV5, which used it as the show's theme. After years of success, RBD, however, had to disband to allow the members to pursue other projects.

Maite sang three songs for the Maria de Jesus/Cuidado con el Angel soundtrack: "Esta Soledad," "Separada de ti," and "Contigo." She also sang the theme song of her current telenovela, "Mi Pecado."
