Carla Abellana set to star in the Philippine version of RosalindaGMA -7 has revealed in its trade show yesterday that it has picked a fresh face to topbill the Philippine version Rosalinda.
Carla Abellana, the 20-year-old daughter of '80's matinee idol Rey "PJ" Abellana, was introduced to the press as the girl who will next step into the shoes of Thalia.
Thalia's Rosalinda made history in the Philippines when one of its episodes got the highest rating (69.8%) amongst all the dubbed shows shown in this country. Meanwhile, one of the episodes of Marimar (the original) got the third highest rating, garnering 61.7%.
The Philippine version of Marimar also topped the ratings during its run.Initially, everybody thought that Marian Rivera, the actress who played Marimar in the Philippine, would play the aforesaid role.
