[TELENOVELA ESTRELLA] Sabine Moussier is the new Aventurera

It's official. The 41-year-old actress will replace Edith González in the role of Elena Tejera in the famous Mexican musical

After weeks of rumors and speculation about who will be the next leading lady in the Mexican musical Aventurera, producer Carmen Salinas announced that the role will go to Sabine Moussier.

"It's a great role and wonderful cast. I feel like I'm ready for this, and plus, I really love to dance," said Edith González's new replacement. The Las tontas no van al cielo (Televisa) actress said she's not worried about being compared with past leading ladies, because she thinks she's got what it has to take on the challenge.

Moussier will starts rehearsals with the rest of the cast immediately, and is set to make her debut on August 29 in the Blanquita theater in Mexico City. Moussier signed a contract to finish off the 2008 season, with the possibility of renewing it thereafter.

Edith González: Watch out, she's a man eater
The Mexican actress spoke with Peopleenespañol.com about her daughter, her challenging role, and her co-star Christian Meier from Colombia, where she's shooting the soap Doña Bárbara, which premieres Monday on Telemundo

Mexican actress Edith González is ready to take on Doña Bárbara. Inspired by the novel written by Venezuelan actor Rómulo Gallegos, the drama unfold this Monday August 4 at 9 PM eastern standard time.

Before even asking if she minded being compared to María Félix in the film version of Doña Bárbara (1943), the 42-year-old actress said, “there's always going to be comparisons," but she has faith in her performance. Also, she clarified that María Félix served as a mentor. “Although it doesn't sound very modest, I will say that Félix loved me a lot. I know she would be applauding me, cause she helped me out so much in my life."

According to the actress, her turn as Doña Bárbara –a heroin who is raped at a tender age and vows to avenge her enemies, and is eventually deemed a "man eater"–is not typical of the roles she's used to playing. “Doña Bárbara is seen as this great savior," she say. “I see her more as daring and reckless, and that's why she takes on that element of being uncivilized and doing whatever she wants ot do."

Nevertheless, Santos Luzardo, played by Peruvian Christian Meier, longs to tame her with love. González describes their relationship as one where opposites attract. The civilized versus the savage," she says.

And how is it working with Meier? “It sucks!” jokes the actress. “He's like James Bond; he doesn't sweat, doesn't get bitten by mosquitos, and his hair always looks amazing. It's incredibly humbling for me as a woman. I sweat and my hair ends up looking like a mess. It frustrates me a little.”

It also frustrates her to be away from her daughter, Constanza, 4, who's in Mexico while she's been shooting in Colombia. Although she plan on bringing to Colombia soon, she says they communicate on video over the internet.

“We talk to each other on Skype. Yesterday we talked for 45 minutes, and she drew me little things and showed them to me on screen. It makes the distance a little bit easier to handle," she says.

After this project, her schedule is completely booked for next year. She's been offered a role to star in the film Obsesión, produced by Osvaldo Ríos' Riverside Entertainment Group. In that film she'll form part of a love triangle along with Ríos and Adamari López. She'll also co-host alongside Juan Ferrara, in an a concert where tenor Plácido Domingo will sing in the ruins of Chichén Itzá in October. And, as if she didn't have enough on her plate already, she'll also star in a play in Mexico.

An "office blessing" was held yesterday, August 1, wherein selected guests were able to take a glimpse of the luxurious interiors of Eco Moda Manila. I Love Betty La Fea stars Bea Alonzo and Ruffa Gutierrez and ABS-CBN SVP for Entertainment Cory Vidanes led the ribbon cutting that was followed by a tour of the office premises. Dressed in a stylish black ensemble, Ruffa proudly showed off her office to mom Annabelle Rama. The stunning actress was obviously thrilled with her character Daniela’s fully furnished digs, which already has some framed pictures of her. Since the actor playing Armando—the show’s male lead character—has yet to be identified, there were still no signs of who he was in his room. Bea—who specifically donned Betty’s nerdy outfit for the occasion—was also excited to work on the Eco Moda set, even if her first office is supposed to be a crowded stock room. Joining Ruffa and Bea on the tour were other cast members like Meryll Soriano, Wendy Valdez, Sheryn Regis, and Ronnie Liang. The people behind the series like Business Unit Head Deo Endrinal, Ad Promo Head Biboy Arboleda, and directors Erick Salud and Don Cuaresma were proud to see that guests were awestruck by the lavish pink, aqua, and lime colored interiors. The spacious office set was also furnished with state-of-the-art computers, huge flat-screen TVs, and custom-made furniture (courtesy of Dreamweaver Inc.) to achieve the fresh, modern, and upscale look that they wanted for the show, which happens to be ABS-CBN’s biggest franchise to date. Production Designer Chris Ecker de Guzman stressed why having a believable and stylish Eco Moda set is crucial for I Love Betty La Fea. "If you’re familiar with the story, 70% of [it] happens in the office. And it’s hard to find an advertising agency which would cater to the look that we [wanted]. So why not construct a set na makukuha yung gusto nating look and hindi pa tayo pagbabawalan kung anong oras lang tayo pwedeng mag-shoot?" [TELENOVELAS: VENEZUELA] Gaby Espino será Analia en EL ROSTRO DE ANALIA

Ya empezaron a grabar la nueva telenovela de Humberto "Kiko" Olivieri, El Rostro de Analía, la cual es exraoficialmente una nueva versión de una historia suya hecha en los 80s, María María, con Alba Roversi, Arturo Peniche, Julie Restifo, Aroldo Betancourt y Mara Croatto.

En el elenco se encuentran Elizabeth Gutiérrez (Acorralada, Amor Comprado), Martín Karpán (El Cuerpo del Deseo, La Viuda de Blanco), Maritza Rodríguez (Ángel Rebelde, Acorralada), Gabriel Porras (Olvidarte Jamás), Flor Núñez (Dueña y Señora, Mi Prima Ciela), Alejandro Chabán (Prisionera), Elluz Peraza (Rebeca, Anita No Te Rajes), Karla Monroig (Dueña y Señora, Dame Chocolate) y Flavio Caballero (La Viuda de Blanco, Valeria).

En el elenco también se encuentra la joven Ximena Duque, quien ha participado en telenovelas como Soñar No Cuesta Nada y Pecados Ajenos, cabe destacar que Ximena está grabando al mismo tiempo la telenovela Valeria para Venevisión Productions sin haberla terminado, así que Duque alternará su trabajo entre El Rostro de Analía en donde será una teibolera y en Valeria donde es la hermana rebelde de la protagonista, todo eso con la ayuda (y permiso) de ambas productoras.

Y la semana que viene Gaby Espino hará un viaje temporal a Miami para hacer una participación especial en la historia en donde haría el equivalente de Mara Croatto en María María, pues será la Analía verdadera y luego muere quedando como protagonista Elizabeth Gutiérrez que haría el equivalente de Alba Roversi, Martín Karpán quedaría como el equivalente de Arturo Peniche y Maritza Rodríguez como el equivalente de Julie Restifo.
